Project
Garrison Hill Tank Water Storage Improvements
- Location: Dover, NH
- Year Built: 1968
- Capacity: 4.0 MG
- Liquid Depth: 31'
- Diameter: 149'
- Purpose: DN was hired by the City of Dover to rehabiliate their 4.0 MG ground storage tank. The tank was built in1968 and an inspection was performed by DN and improvements were recommended. In March 2025, the tank was drained and DN cleaned the tank and performed concrete restoration to provide a sound surface for the new interior coating . An elastomeric coating was selected to accommodate the dynamic nature of a prestressed concrete tank . The interior construction joints were pretreated with the coating prior to applying it to the entire wall and floor surface. Once the interior work was complete, DN's focus shifted to the outside of the tank. The entire tank was cleaned to remove nearly 60 years of staining . When the tank was originally constructed, architectural pilasters were installed and most of the exterior concrete restoration was on the pilasters, the remainder of the tank was in very good condition. Upgrades were also made to the appurtenances to meet current requirements, along with improvements to the vent and hatch.
